M. M. Modi College Organized National Science Day
The Post- graduate Department of Chemistry at Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala organized Online National Science Day which was dedicated to the discovery of ‘Raman Effect’ and was based on the themes of ‘ Women in Science’ and ‘Future of Science, Technology and Innovation: Impacts on Education, Skills and Work’. This event was sponsored by Punjab State Council for Science and Technology and NCSTC, DST Government of India, New Delhi.
College Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar while addressing the students emphasized on internalizing the concepts of sciences by performing practicals.
The convener of the event and Head of department Dr. Rajeev Sharma told that in this event the department organized various online competitions such as General Science Quiz, Scientific Rangoli, Poster Presentation, Oral Presentation and Slogan Writing to explore the potential and research capabilities of the students. Dr. Sanjay Kumar (Convener) explained the rules and regulations of all the events.
In the Online quiz 113 students from various colleges and universities participated. The first position was secured by Manisha from State College of Education, Patiala. Second position was jointly shared by Rahul Mittal and Rittik Goyal of MM Modi College, Patiala. Third position was jointly shared by Meghali Gupta of State college of Education Patiala, Neha Rani of MM Modi College and Mukund Kumar of Punjabi University.
The themes of Scientific Rangoli Competition were ‘Role of STI in education / Role of STI in fighting Covid. In this competition 12 teams of students participated in which the first position was won by Arshdeep Kaur and Amandeep Kaur from Government College of Education, Patiala. Second position was shared by Seema and Ashima of Government Ranbir College, Sangrur and Harmanpreet Kaur and Tanisha from Sohanlal DAV College, Ambala.
In the Poster Presentation 25 participants presented their work on the themes “Work of Eminent Women Scientists in STEM / Impact of STI on Employment and Business sector”. In this competition first position was won by Mandeep Kaur of MM Modi College and the second position was shared by Parampreet Singh of S. D. College, Barnala and Darshan Singh of MM Modi College, Patiala. The judges for this event were Dr. Anupama Parmar and Dr. Bhanvi.
In the Oral Presentation 12 students participated on the themes “Discoveries and Inventions by Eminent Women Scientists /Role of STI in addressing COVID challenges”. In this competition first position was won by Smile of MM Modi College and second position was secured by Vaishali from Government Mohindra College and third position was shared by Gulbir Kaur from Mata Sahib Kaur Khalsa College, Patiala and Shivani Goyal from Modi College. In this event faculty members from various colleges also presented their papers on, ‘Future of STI in Science Teaching’. In this competition first position was won by Dr. Anu Saini of DAV College, Hoshiarpur and second position was secured by Dr. Kamaljit Kaur from SGGS College, Chandigarh.
In the slogan writing competition the themes were provided on the spot. In this competition first position was won by Bhanu from M M Modi College, second position was secured by Pooja and Alveera Singh from Mata Sahib Kaur Khalsa Girls College of education won the third position.
The organizing secretaries Dr. Sanjeev Kumar and Dr. Gaganpreet Kaur thanked all the participants for making this event successful. The event was coordinated by Dr. Harjinder Singh, Dr. Anupama, Dr. Nidhi, Dr. Sanjeev, Dr. Gaganpreet Kaur, Prof. Poonam, Prof. Priyanka, Prof. Karandeep, Dr. Neha, Prof. Arpna and Prof. Ruhi.

ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਦਿਵਸ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ
ਸਥਾਨਕ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਪੋਸਟ-ਗੈਰਜੂਏਟ ਰਸਾਇਣ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋ ‘ਰਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ’ ਦੀ ਖੋਜ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਟੇਟ ਕੌਂਸਲ ਫਾਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਐਂਡ ਤਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ, ਐੱਨ.ਸੀ.ਐੱਸ,ਟੀ.ਸੀ ਤੇ ਡੀ.ਐੱਸ.ਟੀ ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਦਿਵਸ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ।ਇਸ ਸਾਲ ਇਹ ਦਿਵਸ, ‘ਵੂਮੈਨ ਇੰਨ ਸਾਇੰਸ’ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਊਚਰ ਆਫ ਸਾਇੰਸ, ਤਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ ਐਂਡ ਇੰਨੋਵੇਸ਼ਨ: ਇੰਮਪੈਕਟ ਆਨ ਐਜ਼ੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ, ਸਕਿੱਲਜ਼ ਐੱਡ ਵਰਕ’ ਦੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਤੇ ਆਧਾਰਿਤ ਸੀ।
ਇਸ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਦਿਵਸ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਿਤ ਕਰਦਿਆ ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ.ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਯੋਗਿਕ ਵਿਧੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਮਝਣ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਦੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਇਸ ਦਿਵਸ ਦੇ ਸੰਚਾਲਕ ਤੇ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਮੁਖੀ ਡਾ. ਰਾਜੀਵ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਸਾਲ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਿਆ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਕੁਇੱਜ਼, ਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਰੰਗੋਲੀ, ਪੋਸਟਰ ਬਣਾਉਣਾ, ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਪੰਨ ਕੀਤੇ ਖੋਜ-ਕਾਰਜਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਖਿਕ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਤੇ ਸਲੋਗਨ ਰਾਈਟਿੰਗ ਵਰਗੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿਭਾ ਤੇ ਖੋਜ-ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਖਾਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ। ਡਾ. ਸੰਜੇ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਰਸਾਇਣ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਿਯਮਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਗਏ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਕੁਇੱਜ਼ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ 113 ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ।
ਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਰੰਗੋਲੀ ਸਜਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਮਨੀਸ਼ਾ, ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਸਟੇਟ ਕਾਲਜ ਆਫ਼ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ, ਦੂਜਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਰਾਹੁਲ ਮਿੱਤਲ ਅਤੇ ਰਿਤਿਕ ਗੋਇਲ, ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੀਜਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਮੇਘਾਲੀ ਗੁਪਤਾ, ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਸਟੇਟ ਕਾਲਜ ਆਫ਼ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ, ਨੇਹਾ ਰਾਣੀ, ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਕੰਦ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
‘ਰੋਲ ਆਫ਼ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਐਂਡ ਟੈਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ ਇੰਨ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ’/’ਰੋਲ ਆਫ਼ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਐਂਡ ਟੈਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ ਇੰਨ ਫਾਈਟਿੰਗ ਕੋਵਿਡ’ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਰੰਗੋਲੀ ਬਣਾਈ ਗਈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ 12 ਟੀਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ। ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਸਟੇਟ ਕਾਲਜ ਆਫ਼ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ, ਦੀ ਅਰਸ਼ਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਅਤੇ ਅਮਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ, ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਰਣਬੀਰ ਕਾਲਜ, ਸੰਗਰੂਰ ਦੀ ਸੀਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਸ਼ੀਮਾ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੋਹਨ ਲਾਲ ਡੀ.ਏ.ਵੀ. ਕਾਲਜ, ਅੰਬਾਲਾ ਦੀ ਹਰਮਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਅਤੇ ਤਨੀਸ਼ਾ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ ਤੀਜਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਔਰਤ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਦੀ ਤਰੱਕੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਤਕਨੀਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੁਜ਼ਗਾਰ ਤੇ ਵਪਾਰਿਕ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਣ ਵਰਗੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਬਣਾਏ ਗਏ ਪੋਸਟਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸਤੁਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ 25 ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ। ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੀ ਮਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸਥਾਨ, ਐਸ.ਡੀ. ਕਾਲਜ, ਬਰਨਾਲਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਪਰਮਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਤੀਜਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਯੋਗਿਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾ. ਅਨੁਪਮਾ ਪਰਮਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਭਾਨਵੀ ਵਧਾਵਨ ਨੇ ਜੱਜਾਂ ਵੱਜੋਂ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾਈ।
ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ 12 ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਸੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਤੇ ਮੌਖਿਕ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਸਤੁਤ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ, ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੀ ਸਮਾਇਲ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾ, ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਮਹਿੰਦਰਾ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਨੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕੋਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੀ ਗੁਲਬੀਰ ਕੌਰ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਿਵਾਨੀ ਗੋਇਲ ਨੇ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਤੀਜਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਇਸੇ ਸ਼ੈਸਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਦੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਤਕਨੀਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਉੱਪਰ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ-ਸੰਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਇੱਕ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਡੀ.ਏ.ਵੀ. ਕਾਲਜ, ਹੁਸ਼ਿਆਰਪੁਰ ਦੀ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾ ਡਾ. ਅਨੁ ਸੈਣੀ, ਐਸ.ਜੀ.ਜੀ.ਐਸ. ਕਾਲਜ, ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਦੀ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾ ਡਾ. ਕਮਲਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਸਲੋਗਨ ਰਾਈਟਿੰਗ ਦੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣ ਭਾਨੁ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕੌਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਗਰਲਜ਼ ਕਾਲਜ ਆਫ਼ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਦੂਜੇ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਸੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਅਲਵੀਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੀਜੇ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਰਹੇ।
ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਜਕਾਰੀ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਡਾ. ਸੰਜੀਵ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਗਗਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਨਿਭਾਈ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਰਸਾਇਣ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਡਾ. ਹਰਜਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡਾ. ਨਿਧੀ, ਡਾ. ਅਨੁਪਮਾ ਪਰਮਾਰ, ਡਾ. ਨੇਹਾ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਅਰਪਨਾ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਪੂਨਮ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਕਰਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਰੂਹੀ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਪ੍ਰਿਅੰਕਾ ਨੇ ਸੰਚਾਰੂ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਚਲਾਇਆ।
